Surface to Soil Co. is an owner-operated lawn renovation company based in Fenton, Michigan. Since 2018, we've served thousands of satisfied customers across Genesee, Livingston and Oakland County — and we're proud to hold a 5-star rating for honest work, clear communication and real results.
We're not a mow-and-go outfit and we don't try to be everything to everyone. We focus on hydroseeding, aeration, overseeding and soil top dressing — the soil-first services that actually change how a lawn grows.
Our approach
Most struggling lawns in our area aren't short on fertilizer. They're growing in compacted Michigan soils with almost no organic matter, so water runs off, roots stay shallow, and the turf gives up the first hot week of July. Fixing the soil changes the trajectory of the whole lawn.
So we start there. We look at how the soil behaves, how the yard drains, how much sun it gets and how it's used, then recommend the smallest set of work that will move the needle — and tell you honestly when a service isn't worth doing yet.
